mech arena gauss rifle vs quantumn gun

Hi all, want to share something i did for myself. I'm not sniper fan, so when it comes to sniper achievements it was always a struggle--moving slowly, no auto aim, and long cool down period. So I was looking for a sniper weapon where I can be a bit more flexible. So here is the my finding.

Sniper achievements, tetra rifles have been a favorite, but on mobile they're really tough to use. Sniper achievements I guess Quantum Gun would be your best option 😓

Thanks @whisper  yeah. I want to try Tetra. What is good about them BTW?

Sniper Achievements--current using either EM rifle or Rail gun.

@varz Tetra rifles have 4 shots, with the last becoming more powerful the more of the previous 3 shots you hit. The first 3 hits will break perimeter mods, and the fourth has a 15% mod/shield piercing perk. Overall they're the best sniper to deal with mods, but I'm also biased since I think they're one of the highest skill ceiling weapons in the game and my personal favorites. If you don't have tetras (I think they'll be coming out in the gear hub within the next 3 months?), EMs are your best alternative.

@varz EMs vs railguns; I saw this comparison a lot in the previous meta (before mods), but now they're both practically dead lol (only exception is on Orion, whose shield piercing mark means you'll kill a lot of stuff straight through mods). Here would be my quick list of strengths and weaknesses:

Railgun

  • PRO: Instant speed projectile means you can see an enemy, hit the attack button, and they're dead... unless they have a perimeter mod.
  • PRO: No aim assist allows for scary shots you can't hit with an aim assist weapons. You'll learn with practice to hit shots where your opponent thinks they're fully behind a wall.
  • CON: Cannot deal with perimeter mods whatsoever. You'll need the mod removed before you can do anything.
  • CON: Very long reload. The railgun has a base reload of 30 seconds ( 😕 ) so missing is really really bad.

EM Rifle

  • PRO: Fast reload speed means it isn't useless against mods.
  • PRO: Bots have no mods for a vast majority of the game, so you'll be able to get very good stats against bots with this weapon.
  • CON: The current meta is very aggressive, and EMs do less damage up close... so they are naturally weaker.
  • CON: EM rifle relies on its high double-damage chance to inflict good damage. Unfortunately, any "double damage" from that double-damage chance gets absorbed by the galvanic hull mod.

Sorry if that's way more than you care about lol.

I really like quantum guns and to say that gauss rifle is underpowered is an understatement. One of my largest regrets was buying gauss rifle (even though it’s super cheap), I just wanted to find a weapon that would mesh well with quantum gun… gauss is useless.

I don’t have a lot of experience with em rifle or railgun, but from videos I’ve seen they both have their merits. If I had to choose, I would lean towards em rifle, I can’t stand really long reloads.
