Hey everyone! Just wanted to get your input for two questions:

Seeker's Best Weapon

The vast majority of players (like 100% of the players I see) are using revoker on Seeker. After all, revoker's main weakness is its lack of range, and Seeker warps you straight behind your opponent.

However, there's an inherent weakness with warping next to your opponent; positioning. You're teleporting into enemy territory, and you don't know what's going on, who might all be there, etc. I can't tell you how many times a Seeker warps to me and I EMP them or just Orion railgun them. I kill about 5x more Seekers than Seeker kill me, and that's because they don't know what's going on when they warp to me; whereas I know exactly what's going on around me and I know when they warp to me as well.

This brings me to my main point; revokers feel really weak with Seeker! I warp in and immediately get EMP'd or Hemlock'd or something. I get maybe one revoker shot off before I die. So, I'm considering storm racks instead. I can warp in, press the attack button once, and get all my damage out even if I get stunned in some way. In addition, storm racks normally need skill (outside of Lacewing or Hemlock) to hit your opponent's back with splash damage. But Seeker warps behind my enemy, so I just shoot the floor and kill them.

What do you all think about a storm rack seeker?

Mimicker

Mimicker is one of the mechs I'm considering for my eventual hanger, but what weapon to put on him? I don't want to put storms, since I already have 2 storm rack mechs, so pod guns? Tetra rifles? I'm leaning towards tetra rifles, but I don't really know. Any suggestions? Also, would Mimicker be my best option if I'm running Lacewing, Surge, Eclipse, and Seeker in my hanger?

Thanks!

@whisper I could definitely see storm rack working well and for the reasons you’re stating. I see a lot of fragment gun users as well and that makes sense to me. It’s nice that they are really affordable and the dps is good for the amount of time you’re there.

Hi @whisper
I think different weapon and mech combo brings out different styles of play. Question one could ask is what type of playstyle you like.

Seeker w/ Fragment Gun This is what I started out with—to do two achievements. This has been fun and up-close. One of the pros of this is, if there is a group, warp in, boom! 1-2 (3 if lucky) due to its wide spread angle. The con is when one warps back, the gun is on CD (Cool Down). Also, since it's close range, anything mid-range plus, it's impossible to contribute with this.

Seeker w/ Revoker It's fun for sure! I appreciate its no CD and just go! During the warp back, still good-to-go due to Revoker's nature. Con similar to above—no mid-range contribution.

Seeker w/ Disc Launcher This is fun! I warp in and move backwards as I'm shooting, or go slightly around the corner, like fadeaway shots in basketball. Mid-range contribution is good too. It's the ammo count that really hinders some of its performance.

Seeker w/ Overdriver This is my new combo which I'm enjoying thus far. Can contribute to close and mid-range, which has been cool to do with Seeker. One of the attributes I like about Overdriver is how the CD is done. There are no bullets—just watch the CD as it overheats. Also, the CD once overheating is not terrible. Therefore, when warping back a millisecond right before the warp back, if you let go, the CD starts, so once you warp back, you're good to go.

I'm currently in Tournament with Revoker, but 2v2 and 5v5 I use Overdriver. 🙂

Please keep us updated with your experiment. This is a good! 🙂
