I’m seriously considering starting the game over again. There are multiple reasons as to why and I’ve learned so much from playing for the last year, since I started this account, that I’d like to apply to a different approach with a fresh start.
One of the primary reasons why I’m considering this is because I’m hitting a wall. I progressed too quickly, my inventory power shot up too fast and has made the matchmaking much more difficult than it needs to be. I upgraded and bought items that I shouldn’t have, it was a waste and only makes the game more difficult for me. In-game resources should be spent very carefully and I bought a legendary pilot for nearly 4000 acoin while in tier 3 or 4 and maxed out my MD when the prices were much higher 😳
One conclusion I’ve come to for myself is that Tengu with Revoker 6 should be a priority.
I play for free so all I’m losing is my time and I’m not concerned about that. The planning and discovery is what I enjoy, not necessarily this higher level competition that I’m unprepared for because of poor resource management decisions.
I really think they should review the ability for players to scrap weapons, pilots, mechs for other resources. I would even consider continuing with this account if that was made available.

@sweet-pea The game has also gotten a lot easier to progress early game (with promo codes, login streak, I believe instead of an Arachnos derby it's a Killshot kerby now, etc.). I completely agree maxing sub-optimal items can make progression much slower. You could always make a new account and see how you like it! Make SURE to use the new player promos though.

These are the three new player codes I'd recommend. RuFFles on YouTube also put out a great gear hub guide video within the last month I believe that I found to be 100% accurate; I highly recommend it!
I'd also recommend what RuFFles says; don't upgrade anything a single time! Leave everything at level 1! It's a waste of credits. You should also avoid spending A-coins whatsoever until Aegis, Surge, and Eclipse. Revokers and Storm racks should be your main goals (the ones for credits at least).
@whisper I agree. I had a moment of weakness and really wanted the epic cooldown because they are difficult to obtain. I had to purchase Shadow to do it, but for 450 or whatever… I’m willing to pay that for that skill. I don’t plan on using Storm simply because I can’t control it using the PS5 controller, it requires too much fine motor skill and I can’t target quickly and precisely enough. I love using the controller and there are many advantages that I couldn’t obtain using the touch screen. It’s a loss I’m willing to take for the time being. I really like barrage weapons and would love to have nade, cryo and pod builds in addition to some close quarter mechs. Minigun and Overdriver interest me quite a bit too… I like the mid range.

Totally get where you’re coming from. Sometimes the real fun is in the planning, experimenting, and finding a rhythm that feels right.

@varz thoroughly enjoying it. Way more fun than the game play I was experiencing before. I’m feeling a lot more confident this time and I think I’m making much better choices. I’m working on tier 5 which isn’t too bad considering it’s been 2-3 days.
